Regional Spatial Stratey
Posted by John Webster, district councillor for St Mark's, at 08:41, Mon 5 July 2010:
Following the election of the Coalition, the Regional Spatial Strategy has been abandoned. As yet there is nothing new to take its place, but the key issue is the number of houses that the Government had allocated to each area based on dubious population projections. These will now be left to local Councils to decide, but there have to be coherent reasons behind their decisions. The threat to building on the Green Belt has thus receded.
In St. Marks we continue to press the County Council to make the junction between Tennyson Rd. and the main A40 safer.

Please do. I try to avoid the junction and have seen several near misses there recently.
